2 Peter 1:19-21 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Although it was a great responsibility to be a prophet, this call had nothing to do with your descent, or who your parents were. A king or a priest inherited his position which was handed down from the parents to the children. With a prophet it was different, for they came from different levels of society and circumstances of life. They had a special call from God. Again and again, we see in the Bible how normal people do extraordinary things in the kingdom of God. May you be encouraged by this today. And also remember that as a Christian, you are a part of a wonderful family and that through Jesus Christ, eternal life in glory with Him has been given to you. jk
