Eat the whole lamb

Philipper 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

1 Peter 2:21 and 24 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

When Israel was to leave Egypt, they ate the Passover lamb. The instruction was that they ate it all. That nothing should be left out. Even the less tastier parts. You were not allowed only to eat the tender parts, or the parts you liked, but also the parts you didn’t like. This was of course an image and shadow of Christ. You cannot pick and choose what part of Christ you want. Some only want the gifts. No, you have to take it all. Eat the whole lamb. Not only the POWER of his resurrection, but also the fellowship with his sufferings. To receive Christ, is to take it all. IT starts at the cross…

To know him is to take part in all aspects of him. Not only the power and the gifts, but also the fellowship with his sufferings. The cross, and repentance. Pastor Gøran Andreassen
