Don't compare yourself with
others, but rather discover the treasure in you! |
2. Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not class ourselves
or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring
themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are
not wise.
The
Word of God tells us that it is not wise to compare ourselves with one
another. God has made each one of us completely unique, and therefore,
also has for each one of us complete individual plans and tasks. He allows
us go through totally different tests, in order to work on our Christian
character. He is interested in our spiritual growth and in all things
He truly has the best for us because He loves us. Jeremiah 29:11 For
I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of
peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
When we compare ourselves with one another then it often leads to dissatisfaction
and ingratitude, and in the worse case to envy or pride. We could miss
the goals which God has in mind for us because we are no longer spiritual
but carnal. God has also given us completely different gifts and talents and expects us all to simply give our best. Ephesians 4:1 I, therefore,
the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with
which you were called.
We must learn to trust God and to accept how He has made us to be. If
we walk with our heavenly father, holding His hand in complete trust,
then we will be able to stand and are more than conquerors in Him. Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him
who loved us.
Be encouraged in Jesus Christ today, strengthened, blessed and thankful!
