Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Jonathan was loyal to God and to his friends. His friendship with David is one of the great models for friendship found within the Bible. Jonathan’s ultimate loyalty started with God. Because of his strong relationship with God, Jonathan was able to gain God’s wisdom when he was caught in a terrible spot between his father and David.

Jonathan is a strong example for us to follow. He was an unselfish and true friend. Friends like Jonathan are difficult to find. If you have a friend who isn’t selfish and is loyal to your relationship, make sure you go out of your way to express your appreciation. Friendships like this are definitely worth keeping!
