Text: 2.Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is
but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal
weight of glory.
Affliction describes something which troubles a person and it represents
different needs, problems or difficulties: Persecution, imprisonment,
war needs, strife, sickness, hunger, fear, sadness, etc.
The term glory describes, above all, God’s supremacy, majesty, and
the supernatural light which emanates from His presence.
The glory of God is revealed in the birth of Jesus, in His message,
in His wounds, in His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to
heaven. If you are redeemed by faith in Jesus, then you have become
a child of God; and the following words of Jesus also apply to you,
“And the glory which You gavest Me I have given them” John
17:22.
Through having a relationship with Jesus Christ in your life, you
also share in His glory. You repent, you get baptized in Jesus’ name,
and receive the Holy Spirit. You are saved and now begin a new life
with Jesus. You are no longer a part of this world. You belong to
the kingdom of God. However, do not forget, that for the present time
you are still living in this world. Problems will come and go. Money,
poverty, death will pass away. That which is visible is temporal.
That which is invisible is eternal. Jesus is the eternal life. Therefore,
do not look at your current difficulties. Trust Jesus with your whole
life and only look towards Him. He is your Savior. God bless you.
