Sons and daughters of God |
Gen 35:18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in
departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father
called him Benjamin.
Ben-oni means "son of my sorrow or misfortune" but Benjamin
means "son of my right hand", "son of joy". Do you
live completely alone in a highly populated world, in which you are called
a loser, a failure, or a nobody? It could even be that, you were compared
to your worldly father whose life (in some cases) could be described as
being terrible. You wonder whether you will ever be able to rise above
this label which you have been stuck with since birth. You ask yourself
whether there is somebody who is on your side.
However, you are the one who the Father says that you are: "You are
a child of God!" As a Christian, you are more than a conqueror, you
are a joint heir with Christ, you are the temple of God, a chosen generation,
and a holy nation. No matter what stamp the world has forced upon you,
you are the one who the Father says that you are: "You are my child."
This applies to those who obey the Gospel and then follow Jesus. ld
1.Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a
holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises
of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
