Eternity is too long to be wrong
1 Corinthians 15:3-8 For I delivered to you first of all that
which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to
the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the
third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas,
then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred
brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present,
but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then
by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as
by one born out of due time.
“Eternity
is too long to be wrong” – this statement makes us think of our
existence in the afterlife and of course it also involves our present
life and the choices we make.
God’s Word is established, it is timeless and always relevant. Matthew
24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by
no means pass away. Men’s tradition will pass away, but God’s
Word will not pass away. Therefore, it must have preeminence in
our lives. When we humbly study the Bible, believe, obey and come
into a close relationship with our Savior, we escape and spare ourselves
from being wrong. Actually, it is God’s desire for us to be right
with Him and spend eternity with Him, because Jesus came to seek
and to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10)
We are not only entering into a new year, but actually we are all
heading towards eternity, so let us heed and be instructed by the
Word of God. Here are some important Scriptures:
Warnings:
Colossians 2:8-10 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy
and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to
the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you
are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify to everyone who hears the
words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things,
God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and
if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy
city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Plan of salvation/ to be born again:
Acts 2:38-39 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every
one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission
of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For
the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar
off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
Christian Living/Commitment:
Matthew 11:29-30 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for
I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Follow Jesus
and love Him and in the end, everything will be alright.
Promises:
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence
is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Advise:
Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica,
in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched
the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may gain
a heart of wisdom.
Happy New Year. God bless you abundantly! ra
Additional scriptures for further study: Read and study the Bible
prayerfully the whole year. Remember, eternity is too long to be
wrong.
