Are you qualified? He looked beyond my faults

1 Corinthians 1:27 ‘But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

Romans 3:21-26 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all [and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified [freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a]propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Abraham lied, and ended up sharing his wife with another man, Sarah laughed at Gods promise, Moses killed a man, and had difficulties to speak. Moses’ sister Miriam was a slanderer; Noah got drunk and made a fool out of himself. Jonah fled from Gods calling, Gideon had no self-confidence, David cheated and murdered to hide his sin. Elijah was depressed, Peter had a bad temper, Paul was a murderer, Martha was worried, Thomas doubted, Zacchaeus was a thief, and Lazarus was DEAD. The list could go on forever.

The truth is that all men and woman God used in the Bible had flaws and challenges. None of them would have been anyone we would have picked for the task. The 12 men Jesus chose to carry the Gospel to the world were young unlearned teenagers. The Bible tells us that God chose that was nothing in this world. You may have heard it before, but the truth is still as powerful: God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called. Pastor Gøran Andreassen

as the song goes...

He looked beyond my faults
(by Dotti Rambo)
Amazing Grace shall always be my song of praise
For it was grace that brought me liberty
I do not know just why He ever came to love me so
He looked beyond my faults and saw my need

And I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary
To view the cross where Jesus died for me
How marvelous the grace that caught my falling soul
He looked beyond my faults and saw my need

I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary
To view the cross where Jesus died for me
How marvelous the grace that caught my falling soul
He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs
He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs
