Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Mark 5:25-34 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood
twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and
had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew
worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and
touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes,
I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried
up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And
Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of
him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging
thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to
see her that had done this thing.
But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her,
came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he
said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace,
and be whole of thy plague.
In
Mark 5 you read of a certain nameless woman with an issue of blood
in a crowd full of people watching Jesus pass through their town.
She had been sick for twelve years-seeking many physicians and cures
- only to be left poor, empty, and still awakening each morning with
her need. But she knew the Master Physician was in town, and all she
needed to do was touch the hem of His garment and she would be made
whole.
This woman had probably walked through this street many times, being
looked upon as "unclean," and passed over time and again.
That did not matter on this day; she placed all pride aside, pushing
through the crowd with determination knowing that her healing was
just a touch away. When this woman touched Jesus’ garment she was
immediately healed.
What faith it took for her to step out from her normal routine and
reach for something she had only heard about. She had dealt with this
ailment for twelve years, and now she was completely healed. It does
not matter how big or how small your need is, or how long you have
dealt with it, what matters is that Jesus knows each and every need
you have, and He can heal you, but you must have the faith and trust
in Him that He will take care of it. A great move of the Spirit does
not have to occur in order for you to get what you need. Sometimes
just a touch is all it takes. cv
