Newsletter of March 2008 In Jesus Name, In every society there are some chosen people and in every club there is an elected and privileged elite. The reason for this elite being chosen is because these people have been called or selected to accomplish very important duties. All of us know that having rights and privileges on one hand brings responsibilities on the other hand and the principle of taking and giving is instinctively acknowledged and widely understood among all these people. That's the way in life. God has chosen us to be an elite; in 1 Peter 2:9 He tells us: "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;" This preference which God bestowed on us is of the highest level of honour and dignity. The responsibilities required from us are mentioned in the 2nd part of the Scripture, as He says "that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;" So evangelization and the proclaiming of the truth about Jesus, the Creator, the Saviour and Redeemer is one of the most important responsibilities entrusted to us as chosen people of God and the Apostle Peter described us in 1 Peter2:10 this way: "...who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy." So let us not withhold any effort to achieve this work, because our reward is waiting for us in heaven and the crown shall be put on our head in the midst of God's congregation. Glory and honour to Him forever. |
