His goodness leads you to repentance
Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance
and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth
thee to repentance.
Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that brings salvation has
appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly
lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present
age.
All
of Gods grace, and all of the goodness of God has a purpose. When
God extends his grace upon us, he has a goal. His goal is to lead
us to repentance.
When Jesus was standing in front of the adulteress woman, he said,
neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and SIN NO MORE: In other
words, his grace, and his goodness were leading her to repentance.
Grace is not an excuse to sin, or to continue in sin. Grace is the
opposite. It drives you away from sin, and leads you to repentance.
