Trust in God's mercy

1 Chronicles 21:13 David said to Gad, “I am in deep distress. Let me fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is very great; but do not let me fall into human hands.”

Psalm 130:4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.

I mess up too many times. Too often I do what I know I shouldn't. So what happens when I try and fail? In Romans 7, Paul talked about the war that rages between the flesh and spirit. It is a battle that we all face and we all, at one time or another, lose. However, the fall is not the end of the story. The real story is in the decisions you make when you fail. Will you stay down? Are you so afraid of falling that you won't get up and try again? David had a decision to make: what do I do now?

I want His answer to be my answer. When I fall, I want it to be into the hands of a merciful God who will pick me up and give me grace in my time of need.
