Do you have any forgiving
you need to do today? |
For if you forgive others their
trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do
not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive
your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
There
are few things more mind-blowing than God’s forgiveness. God forgives
us over and over. Do you ever wonder why He doesn’t get tired of forgiving
just you? Well, add the times He’s forgiven you to the times He’s forgiven
innumerable other people – that’s a lot of forgiveness.
In addition to God’s forgiveness, He instructs us to forgive and keep
forgiving. We can’t expect God to forgive us if we aren’t willing to forgive
others. Jesus said, “ Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive
those sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them, he will not
forgive you.” It’s clear cut! If we want to be forgiven, we must forgive
others.
After you’ve confessed your sins to God, rest in the truth that He delights
in forgiving and forgetting your sins. He’s absent-minded when it comes
to your confessed sins. There’s great freedom and hope in that truth –
as long as you’ve forgiven others. Do you have any forgiving you need
to do today? jk
