Col 1:13-14 He has delivered us from
the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His
love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of
sins.
I
so love random facts - facts that really don't matter, but are interesting
all the same. For example, did you know that taxicab drivers have a
seventy percent greater chance of getting skin cancer of the left arm?
Or did you know, one hundred people choke to death on ballpoint pens
every year? Interesting, but meaningless.
There was a kid in our church growing up who knew all kinds of random
facts. During one choir practice, while trying to focus on the spiritual
concept of the song, he leaned forward and asked, "Do you know
how many bricks are in the Empire State building?" With bated breath,
I asked, "No, how many?" Whereas he commenced to give me the
exact number, date of construction, et cetera, et cetera. Meaningless
facts! In the news and internet you are literally flooded with them.
There is one book in which you can find more meaningful facts that you
could ever fathom. Such as Romans 5:8: " But God demonstrates
His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ
died for us." Or John 14;2: "In My Father's house
are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you." Treasure the precious Word of God,
the Bible, for it will give you more meaningful facts than you could
ever imagine." kj
