1. Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." We should forgive and forget. Just like a record that has got stuck, we have heard this so often, and it takes time before it enters like an impenetrable thick fog into our minds. Is it possible for someone to really do this? Is it really possible that we simply forget the pain which someone has caused us in our lives? I believe that we can. I have found the answer to this well-known place in the scriptures. How can the sin in the life of a person disappear when we are continually looking at it? How can we get rid of our own pain? It works through the supernatural power of love. If we decide everyday to have a constant love towards other people around us (we can only do this if we are full of the Holy Ghost, for love is a fruit of the spirit), the Lord will give us eyes to view them with His perfect love. Sin has to yield under His penetrating look and with the love of Jesus you all at once see your neighbour with God's eyes. What power the Lord has given us. Let us use it. kc Additional verses to study: Psalm 130:4; Luke 17:3-4; John 13:35; Romans 4:7; 5:5;13:9-10; Galatians 5:14; Colossians 2:7; 1. Corinthians 13; Luke 11:4; Ephesians 4:15 |
