Stand in the gap
Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among
them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before
me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication
in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance
and supplication for all the saints.
God
was about to send His judgment upon Jerusalem. He didn’t want to,
but because of His righteousness He had to. But right before God
poured out His wrath and judgment upon them, one last time He sought
for a man. He made it clear that all it would take was just ONE
man that was willing to make up a hedge and stand in the gap. When
Abraham prayed for Sodom, God promised He would not destroy it if
He only found ten righteous there…
Who is willing to build up a wall of prayer? Who is willing to make
up a hedge between their family and judgment? All it takes is ONE
man or ONE woman that will stand in the gap for their family. Someone
that will stand in the gap for their city. A church that are willing
to stand in the gap for their country. Can God count on you? Can
your city count on you? Pastor Gøran Andreassen
