1 Corinthian 8:5-6 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. When Jesus was asked which of the Ten Commandments was the most important, He said, "The most important commandment is this ‘Hear, O Israel! The lord our God is the one and only lord. And you must love the lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength’ " (Mark 12:29-30). There's no question about the importance of loving God and God only. This truth may come in opposition to friends from other religions who worship other gods. The Bible is clear about loving only God. Check out Isaiah 44:6: "I am the First and the last; there is no other God. . . . You are my witnesses - is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock - not one!" This is an important truth for our faith. Talk to God today as your
only God. jk |
