Message from the Monthly Flyer from July 2015
Jude who was the brother
of James wrote a letter to certain people who had drifted away from
the faith that was common to all the churches. Jude is speaking here to some people who did not have the Spirit but had been baptized and were thus members of the church. In his letter Jude exhorted the churches to contend to the faith and to the doctrine, moreover, they were admonished to fight for this cause. Talking about fighting means that violence is involved. Some people might not like it, but we must hold fast to the teachings of the Apostles. We are called to fight for the faith, to defend it, to preserve it and to pass it unto others. Long time ago, God was calling His people to watch their ways because they were not working for their good. God recommended His people to remain on the old ways that He had taught them. Jeremiah 6, 6-17: “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.” Nothing has changed today. There is no modern Christianism and there is not such a thing as a modern word of God, a modern God or a modern savior. The way is clearly set but there are many who do not want to go through it. Walking on the old ways will give us the assurance that our souls will find rest. The old ways, the biblical truths and the divine counsels that are
full of promises have been progressively abandoned and finally forgotten
until the dark period of the Middle Age. It is
only in the beginning of the 19th century that more light was shed in
the darkness. Men and women earnestly desired to know God and the old
ways. They fasted and prayed and God send down rain again. His Spirit
came down once again and it was God’s answer to all those that sincerely
desired to know Him. It is the Spirit of God that leads us into the
whole truth and helps us to recognize it. |
