Message from the Monthly Flyer from March 2015
1Corinthians 1:17-18 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. The
preaching of the cross is foolishness for a certain category of people.
This is very sad because these people will be lost for not accepting
the message and the preaching. It is true that in the world we are living
in today, thousands of people who call themselves Christians do not
realize the saving power of the Gospel. The blind teachers that they
are following are telling them to simply perform some good works and
believe in the existence of a god. For some of them, the death of Jesus
is nothing more than the death of a prophet. Others believe that Jesus
already took everything upon Him and endured everything and they don’t
need to do anything about their salvation. The wise and the smart people of this world praise each other and give compliments to one another. They are not seeking after those things that pertain to God. Consequently God will reject them forever. Just imagine that it would be possible to enter into the presence of God by giving a certain amount of money or with a certain degree of education. The way to God would be completely saturated with people! God has another plan and salvation is what we find in Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. We have peace with God because we believe in the blood that Jesus shed on the cross where He carried all our sins. We are justified through the blood: Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. rw |
