Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for
they shall see God. In many respects, our society is governed by the pursuit of fulfillment. The American dream urges people to pursue fulfillment through any legal means. The dream and pursuit is not only limited to the Americans, but all over the world people are chasing this sense of fulfillment. Some people search for it in finding true love. Some try to attain it through a successful career. Some people even search for it by fulfilling their every desire. We are a blessed people to know where to find true self-fulfillment: Jesus Christ. However, I become convicted when I compare my pursuit
of Christ to the secular realm's pursuit of fulfillment. I wonder if
I can honestly say, like Paul, that I long to become so much like Christ
that I can relate to His sufferings. I wonder if I truly do passionately
seek (press) toward becoming like Christ. Although our lives are hectic,
I hope we never become too busy to pursue Christ with the fervor we
apply to other goals. Many times we fall short, but thanks to the grace
of God we are able to look forward instead of regretting what is behind.
