Preach the gospel at all times and, if necessary, use words (Saint Francis from Assisi)

Our planet, the earth, is populated by approximately 6,3 billion people. All of them are different and yet in many ways they are identical. Every person has a sinful body which causes him or her a lot of problems.

Something else which we all have in common, is that everyone is preaching - whether they are aware of it or not. Unfortunately there are only a few people who are preaching the true gospel, which offers a truly good alternative to this earthly life and, above all, enables an individual to be saved.

It is usually people who are unknown to the public but are known by the Lord of glory. These are ones who are not seeking for worldly things, but rather are reaching out for the eternal things and who want to please their God. It is their lifestyle which is preaching the gospel.

"Is the gospel preached indirectly through our life style or can we only persuade, that is, convince other people through words?"

They are a light in this world - a world which the devil is trying to keep in darkness - and they do not need to use words, in order to show the sinner that they have something which they do not have in their lives.

The Scriptures also tell us that in Matthew 5:14-16: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

It is the righteousness of God which radiates from these people and convicts others as a result. There is a question which needs to be posed to each individual. The following question is directed to each person: "Is the gospel preached indirectly through our life style or can we only persuade, that is, convince other people through words?" If the question can be answered with a clear "Yes", then we have fulfilled the great commission which we have received from our Lord when he said, "...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15).

Therefore, live a holy and God-fearing life, so that you can be a soul winner!(sw)
