God’s gift

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

In the Bible, the grace and mercy of God are often spoken about. The Bible tells us that our sin separates us from our God, the creator. As a result of this separation, we have lost the glory of God. However, God revealed Himself in the form of a man upon this earth, so that we could be reconciled to Him and to give eternal life back to us, which we lost because of sin.

He did this out of love for us. Jesus Christ took all our sins upon Him so that we could be saved. The mercy of God does not give us what we have deserved – on account of our sins we deserved death. However Jesus died for us so that we would not be lost, but rather that we would have eternal life. We did not deserve to have our salvation, it is a gift of God. A gift is a present, whereby you do not have to do something to get it. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

We can only be saved by faith and obedience to Jesus Christ. There is only one way to receive eternal life. This way is Jesus Christ alone. Decide now and give Him your life. Repent (be sorry about your sins and turn to God), be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
