Message from the Monthly Flyer from September 2014
Numbers 23: 19 „God is not a man, that He should
lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will
He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not.”
Psalm 119: 80-90 “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.
Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth,
and it abides.”
God’s
Word is full of promises, from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible declares
in 2 Corinthians 2: 20 “For no matter how many promises God has
made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken
by us to the glory of God.”
What has God promised you personally? Have you heard the voice of God
speaking to you? God is a loving and caring Father. He delights in blessing
His children and He is able to bless them beyond their imagination.
(Ephesians 3: 20). The Word of God is true, it does not change and once
it has been spoken it must come to pass. Thus we read in Isaiah 55:
10-11 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do
not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be
that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it
shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing
for which I sent it.”
God can speak to us in many ways. When we have learned to develop an
intimate and personal relation with Him, He will also speak to us in
prayer, during our personal fellowship with Him. God spoke in ancient
times through His prophets. But today, He wants to meet us personally
in a unique relationship with Him. Do you know your God personally?
When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the temple was torn apart,
meaning that we now have free access in the presence of the Father.
We can now talk to Him as we would speak to a friend. God listens to
our prayers and He cares for us. He is not ignorant of our situations.
He is interested in every detail and there is nothing that He is not
aware of.
Let us read some of God’s promises that we find in His Word.
God has good thoughts for His children:
Jeremiah 29: 11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future
and a hope.”
He promised to take care of our needs:
Psalm 23: 1 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”
Philippians 4: 19 “And my God shall supply all your need according
to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
He will set us free from all oppression and care:
Philippians 4: 6-7 “ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made
known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
1 Peter 5: 7 “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
He promised to fill us with His Holy Spirit of truth and power:
Joel 2: 28-29 “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour
out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And
also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit
in those days.”
Acts 2: 38-39 “Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one
of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise
is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many
as the Lord our God will call.”
He promised to assist us in difficult times:
Psalm 32: 8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should
go; I will guide you with My eye.”
He is our help in the midst of trial:
Isaiah 43: 2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through
the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”
Isaiah 41: 10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for
I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold
you with My righteous right hand.”
The Word of God is a tremendous and matchless treasure. It is the source
of life. I invite you to explore your Bible to discover what God has
in store for you. It will tell you what God thinks about the people
and the events of this time and you will discover the plans that He
has for mankind. Be blessed and encouraged in the precious name of Jesus.
