The
Sevenfold Provision of the Blood
1.
Redemption/ Salvation
Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through his
blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches
of his grace;
- We belonged to the devil but Jesus purchased us back with
His blood
2. Justification/Pardon
Romans 5:8-9
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then,
being now justified by his blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through him.
- Being justified means being regarded as righteous
3. Cleansing/ Washed
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the
light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood
of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
- The
blood of Jesus continuously
cleanses us from all sin
- We must remain in the light
4. Sanctification
Hebrews 13:12
Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify
the people with his own blood,
suffered without the gate.
- Sanctify means to make holy, to set apart from sin and dedicate
to God's service (like the holy vessels in the temple)
5. Life / Existence
Leviticus 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood:
and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement
for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement
for the soul.
- Jesus poured out his life for us upon the 'altar' of Calvary
-
Jesus' blood transfers eternal
life to the receiver
6. Intercession/ Intervention
- Hebrews 7:24-25
But this man, because he continueth ever,
hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to
save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing
he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
- Jesus lives eternally, making intercession for those whom
He saves
DECLARATION: "The blood of Jesus
continually intercedes for me, crying for mercy on my behalf."
7. Access/ Admission
Hebrews 10:19-23 Having therefore, brethren, boldness
to enter into the holiest by the blood
of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated
for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having
an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with
a true heart in full assurance of faith, having
our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our
bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession
of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that
promised;)
- Jesus has gone before us into the Most Holy place in Heaven.
(recap. Leviticus 16:11-14)
- We have boldness to enter the holy place by His
blood and come into the presence of our holy God
Summary
"The blood of Jesus, the
lamb of God, has redeemed me out of the hand of the Devil
and justified me before God, clothing me with the righteousness
of Christ. His blood continually
cleanses me from all sin and sanctifies me, making me holy
and dedicated to God's service. The blood
of Jesus gives me eternal life; it continually intercedes
for me, crying for mercy on my behalf and granting me access
into the presence of almighty God." Rev. Ernest Scott
