LESSON 9

The Value of Salvation!

Scripture Text: Matthew 13:45-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Opening Thoughts: In our daily quest to live for God, it is also our desires that others come to the knowledge of the truth. But unfortunately many souls are not yet hungry enough to receive and react to this wonderful Gospel message. So we have a tremendous responsibility to protect the things that belong to the righteousness of Heaven. It’s not that they shouldn’t be shared but they must be preserved for the sake of reconditioning the human soul.

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Notes: The Strait gate: is the Apostolic Doctrines based on the Apostles and the foundation that they established through their personal experience with Christ.
The Narrow Way: Is the ways of holiness written throughout the Word of God especially the epistles written by Paul given to the churches to enhance their salvation that by the God’s Grace they don’t come up short of His promises.

THE KEY WORD IS FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT!

Mat 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Notes: The laborers according to the Apostles Doctrine are few in numbers but the harvest is great, more true Apostolic laborers are needed to help complete the harvest; we must continue to pray for genuine laborers.

Mat 13:45-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Notes: We must identify the value of our salvation and be willing to sell all that we have in order to purchase the pearl of great price (Eternal Salvation).

Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Notes: the results of a 2 thousand year harvest (The Church Age), the chafes shall be separated from the wheat and there are many more chafes then real grains of wheat!

Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Notes: In our desperation to be saved let us work skillfully and faithfully to secure the promises of grace for the sake of eternal life!
