The Power of God's Word

Amos 5:4 - NKJV - For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live.”

2 Peter 1:21 - NKJV - For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Amos finished his prophesy with the key words “says the Lord your God.” These words were his guarantee that his spoken vision would be fulfilled by the God of creation, the God of Abraham, the God of Moses, etc. He wanted the people to know that his prophetic words weren’t his own words but God’s words and vision for His chosen people.

The Bible you read isn’t filled with words of men. The Bible is filled with God’s words. These words are life-changing because they are from the Lord your God.

Read these words, learn from them, memorize them, and you’ll never be the same. jk

And an afterthought: “Thus saith the LORD” – Moses spoke these words and the plagues devasted Egypt. Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Micah and other men of God spoke these words as well and what was spoken came to pass or will still come to pass, because it was God’s Word and not their own ideas. In the name of Jesus – there is the same power and authority, because the LORD [YHWH] is Jesus, the almighty God.
