In Jesus name,
In
the old times it was a common tradition to kneel down at the feet
of a king or master. When we read in Psalm 99:5 “Exalt the LORD
our God, and worship at His footstool - He is holy.” and in Psalm
132:7 “Let us go into His tabernacle; Let us worship at His footstool.”
– we also see in Matthew 28:9 the two Maries, who came to the tomb
at the beginning of the week kneeling down at the feet of Jesus: “And
as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying,
“Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.”
This tradition or act represents submission, loyalty and obedience
to the Master and the One, who is most worthy and utterly deserve
it, is God. The question, which we should ask ourselves: How can we
kneel down at the feet of our Lord Jesus? Especially when we read
what God in the Old Testament in Isaiah 66:1 said: “Heaven is
My throne, and earth is My footstool."
We see in this verse that God’s throne was
from the beginning and even is to this day still in heaven and the
earth is His footstool. God manifested Himself in human flesh, in
“Jesus Christ”. We all believe and know that the Lord Jesus Christ
is God Himself and the feet of the Lord Jesus, who walked on earth
are the feet of God, who stepped down on earth. When we kneel down
here in prayer at His footstool, then we kneel down at the feet of
Jesus Christ in submission, giving reverence, obedience and loyalty
to our God and Lord. To Him be all Glory. God be with you. es
