In
the name of Jesus Christ
There
is a question that jumps to the mind of many people, who believe in
God and the question is, "who will be saved?" This question
is asked by the educated and uneducated people, the adults and young
ones, the old and youth and David had the same question: LORD,
who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
(Psalm 15:1) and the answer from God came in the 2nd verse of
the same psalm, Psalm 15:2-5 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh
righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth
not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up
a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned;
but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his
own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury,
nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things
shall never be moved.
But is observing all this, enough to be saved? The Lord Jesus
said: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and
in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto
them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew
7:22-23)
Why this? Haven't all these people done these miracles by faith
and in His name and didn't they prophesy in the name of Jesus? What's
going on here?
The
Lord Jesus explained to Nicodemus and said: (Jesus answered),
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and
of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
So, here we receive conditions and what is required of us in order
to go to heaven, but how do we do this? And this same question was
in Nicodemus' mind, too.
As we live in the time of grace, we've got the answer, when Peter
preached in Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission
of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
So, the ones who will be saved, have repented
of their sins and have been baptized in Jesus name and have received
the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues and walking
in the ways of holiness, with the works of righteousness and with
the fruits of the spirit. es
May the Lord Jesus be with you!
