In the name of Jesus Christ
When the mailman comes
and delivers the mail, we are anxious to know what it contains. If
it is happy news, then our day is going to be happy and if it is sad
news, then our day shall be sad, that's the way it is in the world.
But when I read the Holy Scriptures, which is the Word of God, I notice
that the apostle Paul wrote many epistles to the churches when they
were established, encouraging them to hold on to the truth. These
letters were written by revelation through the Holy Spirit and the
churches exchanged these letters, as it is written in Colossian 4:16
Now when this epistle is read among you, see that it is read also
in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you likewise read the epistle
from Laodicea. The effective and strong influence of the epistles
was equal as if they would have been there personally, because of
the authority given to them from God. Paul mentioned in 2 Cor 10:11
Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters
when we are absent, such we will also be in deed when we are present.
He considered the believers in the church of Corinth as an epistle
written in their hearts, known and read of all men: You are our
epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 2.
Cor 3:2 and the matter went further that we all are the written letters
of Jesus Christ by His spirit: 2 Cor 3:3 clearly you are an epistle
of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit
of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh,
that is, of the heart.
The spiritual epistle of the Lord Jesus, which the apostles received
and preached on the day of Pentecost is still preached today and still
encourages, strengthens and admonishes the believers all over the
world. It is the epistle of salvation and our passport to heaven,
where the Lord our king is.
Dear brothers and sisters, be strengthened and encouraged with these
letters.
And the Lord be with you. es
