Mark 8,35-37 "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" All the treasures of the world put together do not compare
to the value of a soul. The treasures of this world will perish but our
souls will live for all eternity. In the world, often it seems as if the
life of a human is worth little and is not really appreciated, however,
with God, things are different. John 3:16 "For God so loved the
world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life." Praise God, that
includes you and me. Jesus became a man (see John 1,1-17), to bear our
sins on the cross and to save us. He came into the world to destroy the
works of the devil, so that we could live a life free from the bondage
of sin and become children of God. God wants us to spend eternity with
Him. 1 John 3:8b For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that
He might destroy the works of the devil. Matthew 6,19-21; John 8:31-32; 14:1-3; Acts 2:38-40; 1 Peter 1,18-19 |
