Looking for the King
- Part 2 |
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be
called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace."
John 18:37 "Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou a
king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a King. To this end
was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should
bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth
my voice."
For
a while now I've been looking for the King who is born in Bethlehem
together with my friends the wise men. Finally our search was recompensed
when the star that was guiding us on the way stood above a particular
house where the young child was. When we saw the star we rejoiced with
exceeding great joy because we were about to meet the baby King that
the prophets of old announced. And when we came into the house, we saw
the young child with Mary His mother and fell down and worshipped Him.
Then we opened our treasures and presented our special gifts unto Him:
gold, frankincense and myrrh (Matthew 2: 10-11). Now that we found the
King that we were looking for, we can truly say that He is wonderful.
This little child called Jesus by His parents is the God of wonders
who makes the impossible possible. Nothing is too hard for Him. Through
faith in Him we can enjoy the privilege of being His children and receive
our promises of joy, peace and security in Him. It does not matter how
much the violence and craziness increases in this world, we know that
we are secure in Jesus because He holds the whole world in His hand.
All the nations are like a drop of water in a bucket when He considers
them. All together they are even like a grain of dust in His sight (Isaiah
40:15). We don't need to be afraid of tomorrow because He holds our
future in His hands. He is our anchor and no matter how strong the wind
may blow in our lives, the Creator of the wind still have all the power
and authority to stop it according to His divine will and wisdom. That's
why nothing shall by any means harm our soul when we believe and trust
in Him.
This child that is born unto us has been given all the power in heaven
and on earth. He knows all things and nothing that happens in our lives
surprises Him. He is a present help in the time of trouble and as a
loving Shepherd, He guides us in His wisdom and lightens our path when
we need to take some decisions. There is no better counselor in the
whole world than King Jesus and we can fully rely on Him in every situation
because He will never deceive us. Jesus is the everlasting Father who
cares for His children and makes sure that they are always blessed with
the very best. His love is unsearchable, His faithfulness is a solid
rock and His mercy endures forever.
Dearest Lord Jesus, we thank you because you came down on earth to be
the light of the world. We thank you because Your birth is a blessing
to all those who gladly and wholeheartedly receive You and believe in
You. We are forever grateful for Your birth because our souls can find
rest and peace in You, for You are the Prince of peace and You are able
to fill us with a peace that the world cannot give. You came so that
we may have life and have it more abundantly. Your Word is the truth
that sanctifies us and sets the captives free. All those who live for
You are mighty heroes who will receive the crown of life one day and
will reign with You. We want You to be the center of our lives and the
reason why we live. You are the best gift that we can receive in this
time of Christmas because You are offering us eternal life. We will
celebrate You now and forever, for You alone are worthy to receive the
glory and the honor and the dominion, as well as praise and worship
from every living creature now and forevermore. Amen. mt
