God is in the House
Luke7:36 And one of the Pharisees desired him
that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house,
            and sat down to eat.
Luke 8:41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was
a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought
him that he would come into his house:

If
"being a Christian" is only limited to a church building,
then Jesus has disappeared out of the life of this person. It was
also just like this in the times of Jesus, when He taught in the synagogues,
His Word was uncomfortable and they didn’t like to hear it. The churchgoers
of these days preferred to remain in their tradition, which gave no
life to them at all. Therefore the ministry of Jesus was not just
in the synagogue, He also visited the people. Wherever He was, He
spoke to them, bringing hope, healing, and love to those, that received
His word. Jesus was an example for His disciples, He wanted them to
act and live like He did.
They had to learn from Him. If we want to be His
disciples, then we have to act, believe and live like Him. An "average
person" can’t accomplish this, because you can’t live such a
life in your own power. Only such people who walk faithfully and close
with the LORD and are obedient to His call and Gospel, can follow
His example. John is writing this:
John 1:11-13 He came unto his own, and his own
received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power
to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of
the will of man, but of God.

Jesus is calling men even today into His ministry. Being a Christian
has nothing to do with a certificate or a membership in a church,
to be a Christian means not to be conformed to this world.

His reward
for this will be a future eternal life. There are many, who give such
a promise, but there is only One, who really can give it, and that
is Jesus Himself. You can call upon His name now, He can and will
lead those people, who seek Him. Jesus has not changed, He also will
come into your house and life, if you only ask and invite Him. (rw)
