The story is not over!!!
Micah 7:8-9 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I
will arise; When I sit in darkness, The Lord will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord, Because I have sinned against
Him, Until He pleads my case And executes justice for me. He will
bring me forth to the light; I will see His righteousness.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our
faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne
of God.
Try
to picture in your mind Joseph at the bottom of the well, or in a
dark prison in Egypt. See if you can imagine Moses running away from
Egypt into the wilderness, or David hiding in caves, running away
from King Saul. If you could travel back in time and visit the harlot
Rahab in her house a week before the spies arrived, or if you could
interview Peter right after he had denied Jesus, and Jesus was about
to be crucified, what would you hear and see? You would hear a harlot
saying that I am done, and it is all over with me. I am living in
a city doomed by God, and a sinner nobody cares for. You would hear
a testimony from Peter how he was convinced he had lost everything
he believed in, and disappointed the one he loved so much. He would
have told you that he had messed it all up. If you could talk to Joseph,
he may have told you how his brothers had crushed all of his dreams
and how Potiphar’s wife had sent him to end his life in jail.
Moses would tell you that he had messed up a great opportunity. I
am sure also David was confused to be running away from the same Kingdom
that God had anointed him to be king over.
If you could go back in time and talk to them in the midst of their
greatest trials and hurt, what would you tell them? You would encourage
them and let them know that they are in the midst of a great story
that will be told for millions of people for ages to come. You would
tell them not to give up, because the story is not over yet. You would
tell them to keep on moving forward, and to hold on another day, because
the story will not end here.
I wish in the same sense God could send a messenger to you, and tell
you the same thing. Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy. Don’t
be bothered by the cheering and rejoicing from the enemy’s camp.
Say as the Prophet: Rejoice not against me oh mine enemies. If
I fall, I SHALL arise. Micah 7:8 The story is not over yet. It
may look dark right now, but I am only in the midst of a great story.
When the Master finishes my story, it will be a great one.
Tell yourself or somebody today: The story is not over yet! Pastor
