Vision: A word that requires pursuit...
Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) “Where there is no vision,
the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
When I stop and contemplate the wonder of “sight”, I am astounded
at all that takes place inside my brain to make “vision” happen. No
wonder when our Lord Jesus asked a blind man what he would have Him
to do for him... he responded “...Lord, that I might receive my
sight.” (Mark 10:51)
We
need to understand that what is true in the physical realm of sight
is also true in the spiritual. Just as you and I can physically see,
we also need to have a spiritual “vision” as well. One of the definitions
of the word “vision” is: a mental image of what the future will
or could be like. Each of us need to have a “vision” for our lives,
but we also need to have a “vision” of what God wants to do with our
lives. We must understand that the vision that God gives to each of
us is far greater than any vision that you and I can think of. His
“vision” for our lives requires us to pursue HIM!
Jesus spoke to his disciples as people were approaching Him...
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh
harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the
fields; for they are white already to harvest. (John 4:35) This
scripture is “point on”! We cannot just rely on our past accomplishments,
but we must “see” what God is doing in our present situations. Jesus
is always witnessing people coming towards Him. We need to “lift up
our eyes” and look upon the potential fields of souls in our midst.
We need the “vision” of what HE is doing right NOW and pursue it.
We need to get out of our “comfort zones” and start working in God’s
harvest field! If God has placed you where you are, then HE has you
there for HIS purpose! You need to “pursue” HIS will and allow HIS
spirit to lead you as HE opens the door you are to walk through.
Remember, God is not willing that any should perish but that “ALL”
should repent. The Spirit of the living God is on our side, HE desires
for the church to grow, and prosper. But we can’t think that there
is no action needed on our part. A thousand times no... because “vision”
requires action... it requires us pursuing the finish line that is
set before us.
What God has initiated HE is more than able to bring to pass! Get
out there! Pursue your God given vision! Let Him add unto the Church
such as should be saved! Don’t hesitate! Start Pursuing! Rev John
