Be holy, because I am holy (Leviticus
19:2 and 1 Peter 1:16)
2 Corinthians 6:17 “Therefore come out from among
them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I
will receive you.”
The God
who created heaven and earth is Love. He loves us, and His love for
us is eternal (Jeremiah 31:3). He loves us so much that He does not
want anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9). That is why He gave us His Spirit
and His Word, which reveal to us the way to follow in this world,
the truth that frees us from the lies of the enemy of our souls, the
devil, and also the abundant life on this earth and the life to come,
that is, eternal life.
It is God who gave us life. He is our Creator Father. He loves and
protects us every day, and today He says to us, “Therefore, come
out from among them and be separate, says the Lord; touch no unclean
thing, and I will receive you.” God, in His goodness and love,
asks us to separate ourselves from sin, negative influences, and corrupt
associations in the world, so that we do not participate in the sins
He hates so much and so that we maintain a pure relationship with
Him. He hates sin because sin debases and destroys the person who
practices it. It is an invitation to live in holiness, separating
ourselves from the corrupt principles and practices of the world and
devoting ourselves to God, Who promises to welcome and be the Father
of those who obey His Word. God loves us but remains intolerant of
sin. His will for us is to walk in the light, that is, in truth and
sanctification, without which no one will see Him. God's people are
never called to speak like everyone else or to live like everyone
else. They are called to separate themselves from sin, to sanctify
themselves in this world, to set themselves apart—in short, to be
holy as God Himself is holy. “But since the one who called you
is holy, you also must be holy in all your conduct, as it is written:
‘Be holy, because I am holy.’” 1 Peter 1:15-16. May God bless
you. Brother Daniel Komla Agbavito
