Take your city through prayer

In Joshua, the Israelites are sent on conquest to capture land and take cities. Instructed by God, Joshua led them to each city to destroy the enemy and to gather up the spoils. “...only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the Treasury of the house of the Lord.” (Joshua 6:24) As they went from city to city they followed the instruction of the Lord and defeated the enemy and gathered up the spoils.

Since we are the New Testament church, our warfare is spiritual, and the spoils are the people in our city. They are God’s treasure. Just as Joshua was spoken to, prayer is imperative for us to receive instruction, defeat the enemy and to lift up our people. Let’s take our cities through prayer, achieve victory and gather up the people to add to the house of the Lord! Brother Steve Mahoney
